Today is Gracie's Second Birthday!
Here are the highlights so far:
1. Two AM:
I (Danica) woke up in the wee hours to the sound of crying and enterd the girls' room to investigate. Grace was standing at the door crying "I have to go pee". It was so cute. She's been in panties for less than two weeks and I guess she's decided she doesn't even want to pee in her diaper at night. I perched her up on the potty and she wobbled as she tinkled and then she went back to bed. She even woke up with a dry diaper. What an amazing girl!
2. Day:
I've heard of families allowing the birthday girl/boy to stay home from school on their birthday. After a yummy breakfast of "ogurt and tantalope" and some birthday singing we sent Grace to daycare and kept Adora home to spend a special day with her Dad. Grace had a party with her friends - we supplied the sugar cookies - and Adora and Matthew went gift shopping with Uncle Dan. I stayed home and did party prep for tomorrow.
3. Presents!:
This afternnon we gave Grace her presents from us. Daddy got her new Dora the Explorer sheets for her bed. Adora got her a matching squishy pillow and a caterpillar stuffy. Mommy got her a beautiful new storybook. She was pleased.
4. Food:
We now await Papa Rick who is bringing chinese food. After dinner we will have some of the cake that Mommy and Dora made. Mommy baked it this morning and Adora decorated it.
Here is a photo of Adora with the cake. We don't have any pictures of Grace yet! But I'll post lots after the party tomorrow. Gracie is having a fun day so far. Party is toorrow at 10 am at Prince Charles Park. We'd love to see you there!
